Need WN3000RPv3 firmware upgrade help
I just received an email "Important Security Firmware Update from NETGEAR." I have a WN3000RPv3 and successfully downloaded the zip. The Readme file tells me "Do not upgrade the firmware using a wireless connection. Please perform firmware upgrade with “wired” or Ethernet connection only." However I do not have a computer with an Ethernet port. My Yoga 2 Pro laptop only has wi-fi connectivity to the internet.
I can use an Ethernet cable to connect the extender to my router by bringing it upstairs, and plugging it into a nearby wall for power. But I still have to use wi-fi to connect my laptop to the URL "http://www.mywifiext.net" to execute the "Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade" step. I tried it anyway, but then got blocked with a 401 error by not remembering whatever username and password the extender at that URL is expecting.

I got the same email and can’t even get the file ... tried via iPad and Mac -on netgear.com/support page (file not found?)..... no clue what www.routerlogin.net name and password are, put in what I thought it would be, nothing? And out of warranty...
