Netgear EX6100 extender 5G SSID cannot be detected
Hi,
I believe this is the support community. My AC750 range extender model EX6100 cannot have the 5G SSID detected. The firmware version is V1.0.2.24_1.1.134. And tried both Access Point mode as well as Range Extender mode. All with 5G SSID enabled Broadcast Name on. And I'm 100% sure that my client device has 5G wifi enabled, I tried iphone 13, iphone 14, ipad mini 9th GEN as well as an Android TV box.
Please let me know if my extender hardware is broken, or I have some configuration missing.
Thanks
Bruce

Also, I have tried a few times of Factory Reset by pushing the small hole at the side of the product, no luck.

Your status page shows its broadcasting.
You might try upgrading to the 1.0.2.28 firmware and seeing if that helps. Maybe somethings corrupt in firmware.
I'd also try changing the ssid name to make it a little different so its easier to tell.

Access Point mode is only useful if connecting the extender Ethernet port to our router LAN. Without this cabled connection, the extender must be configured to connect to your router normal WiFi. Based on the fact you showed the default configuration SSIDs (EX6100_NETGEAR_xxxx names, this looks like the extender is not configured to connect to your normal WiFi on either band: Follow the NETGEAR AC750 WiFi Range Extender Model EX6100v2 User Manual Get Started section, either using Use the Extender in Extender Mode - Connect to an Existing WiFi Network -
Connect With WPS (the button method) starting from p.10 of the Get Started guide,
or follow the Connect With the NETGEAR Installation Assistant method, p.12 of the Get Started guide.
Before doing so, fetch the current firmware from https://www.netgear.com/support/product/ex6100#download and Update the Firmware as shown on p.41 ff. in the User Manual.
