did you try setting it up using the installation assistant and not wps?
Did you set it up using the push button WPS option?
If so, factory reset the extender and set it up using the installation assistant.
To factory reset, push and hold the reset button for 7-15 seconds while powered on.

Thank you for your reply.
I have tried the following:
1. Reset to factory defaults and set up with "Genius".
2. Reset to factory defaults and set up wit WPS.
3. Set up with "Genius">
4. Set up with WPS.
The behaviour does not change.
I wonder if some setting on my GPON/ONT unit causes this behaviour?
