Have you tried to factory reset the extender? you can do this by holding the reset button for 10 seconds then try to connect it to the router.

Thanks, Darren, for help. Yes, I've reset numerous times with the same result. Maybe too many resets. If the extender can be seen logging into the C7000 gateway using Netgear Genie and displays in the Network Map as EX6150 with an IP: 198.162.0.22, we must be close. I compared the MAC address that appears in Genie as A0:63:91:CE:4E:A8 to the values on the extender label and note the only differences are there are two Mac addresses and the string sequences only vary in the last two positions where they end in :A6 and :A7.
