Feb 02, 2022Netgear extender EX6100
I have been using my extender for a number of years but it only works with 2g. I cannot get it to work with 5g. Anyone who can help would be appreciated.

what router are you connected to?
What firmware is on it?
What method of setup did you use? (wps or the installation wizard)
what error/issue happens when you try to setup the 5ghz?

What tells you that? What wifi clients are you trying to connect to 5 GHz.
Is it in extender (repeater) mode or (wired) access point mode?

What have you tried?
Where do things go wrong in the setup process?
While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge. In this case, are talking about a wifiyou extender.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
