Netgear Extender WN3000RPv2 (Can not get valid IP)

After doing a factory reset of the extender the device will no longer give a valid IP thus not able to login to dashboard.  I tried multiple times same results.  Is there a workaround for this or if the extender pretty much a brick?

    how are you connecting to it? 

    hardwired? wireless? 

    Have you tried hardwiring into it and running through the setup? 

    Have you tried installing it using wps? I usually don't recommend that method but sometimes it works great.
