While you can daisy-chain extenders, it's not a great approach. 

 

Is garage part of the house, or free-standing?

 

There are several apps you can use to check signal strength.  Have you looked at the wifi signal strength of the extender network in her apartment?  If that signal strength is good, then adding an extender in her apartment won't help. 

 

Also, you can use the signal LEDs on the EX2700 (green/amber/red) to give you some idea on whether the issue is the link to the router, or the client link (to her devices).

Hey StephenB,

Thanks for the info! It is a free standing garage. The signal from the router is good and all lights are green. She told me that it started working fine today so I’m not sure what the problem was. Can you send me the name of a couple of apps I can use to check the signal strength in her apt?
