Netgear Nighthawk assigning IP addresses in the range 169.254.*.*
I have a Netgear Nighthawk EX7000 WiFi Range Extender which has been working perfectly until I recently ran the latest software upgrade (Mesh functionality), and its now assigning IP addresses in the range 169.254.*.* and devices now cant connect to the internet if connected via the extender. Devices will only connect to the internet if I connect via my main router (assigning IP addresses in the 192.168.*.* range).
The extender has been configured using the smart setup facility and everything appears to work as it should and it completes succesfully (on both 2.4 and 5Ghz). However it assigns IP addresses in the wrong range and devices cant connect to the internet.

Maybe try reverting to 1.0.0.66 firmware ( https://kb.netgear.com/000059563/EX7000-Firmware-Version-1-0-0-66 ). Several folks have had various issues with 1.0.1.78.

Just to clarify - I suspect these addresses aren't coming from the extender. Windows PCs will assign themselves addresses in this range when DHCP fails. https://www.pcmag.com/encyclopedia/term/37858/apipa
