Region only limits the number of channels available for that region, but changes in environment or devices might need modification in wireless channel. So any router which belongs to any region must give a choice to modify wireless channel. You need to change the wireless mode on your WPN802 to modify wireless channel.

Hi Jvasanth1984,
The wi-fi router is a Netgear WPN802. Doing some further research advises that in some countries you are unable to change the channel. I am in Australia and I am not sure if this is the case. Are you able to assist further. Though it is still hard to explain why it has been working for a number of months and then stopped working without no changes taking place. In my opinion it is pointing to a faulty extender.

Thank you for the information provided. I changed the wireless mode that enabled me to change the wireless channel. So far my extender has kept working for the last 4 days. So far so good.
