I believe you should be able to use the same SSID as the main network. Just be sure to use a different channel.
AFAIK, the EX7000 cannot simultaneously support a guest network in addition to the main network. It would have no way of segregating the traffic while backhauling it to the router.
You could probably use a second extender just for the guest network.

Works like a charm now. Set the router to channel 2, the acces point to channel 7 (and a 3rd asus acces point to channel 12 )
All set to the same SSID and password. I've had a walk around, and it never appeared to even switch network, so I suppose its working then.
THe guest network isnt an issue, since its only really used in the livingroom anyway. But it was just something I was wondering about.
