netgear WN2000RPT firmware update - error firmware region! Any solution?
I have a WN2000RPT Wifi Range Extender which is currently running firmware version V1.0.0.24IC. As far as I can tell, it is a v1. According to the status panel, the region is "United States". ...

Thank you very much for the suggestion - however that didn't help for me.
I downloaded the latest firmware for the v3 - 1.0.1.34. When I tried to upload that file "WN2000RPTv3-V1.0.1.34.img", I get an error "Error upgrade file module name! (Module name is "WN2000RPT")"
For kicks, I tried to rename img file, removing the v3 from the name, then I am back to the "error firmware region!" error.
Just in case - this is too much of a jump in firmware versions, I tried the same 2 things with the WN2000RPTv3-V1.0.1.4 firmware, and got the same results.
Thank you again for the help, but I am still stuck and unable to do the firmware upgrade.
See below for the relevant portion of the status screen of my device.

I was hoping that I would be able to get a solution for this, now my hope is fading (unfortunately).

When it auto-checks for firmware, does it find any?
I'm curious if this is a version supplied to ISPs because of the IC after the firmware version. There were a few routers/extenders that were directly supplied to ISP's that had specific firmware on them.

Thanks for reaching out. No, it does not find an upgrade during the automatic checking.
If this indeed started out life as a routers/extender that was directly supplied to ISP's, does that mean I am out of luck and there is no upgrade path?
Mostly the performance has been good, but I have had instances where it totally froze up and wanted to first see if a firmware upgrade would help.
Thank you again for the response,
Evan

If its an ISP specific device, you probably are sol.
I'm not saying it is, but I don't see that specific firmware anywhere and the lettering after the version is suspicious.
I wouldn't invest to much time in that device as its a pretty old/slow extender.
A half-decent dual band extender is going to be significantly higher performing that it is.
