Nighthawk AX8 8-Stream AX6000 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender(EAX80)

We've just purchased Nighthawk AX8 8-Stream AX6000 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender(EAX80) as we have a lot of smart tec running in our home and our wifi was struggling. We are setting it up and just wondered if it will automatically connect to all the smart products or do we have to add each one?  Sorry if it's a dumb question!

    If you're using the mesh function (same ssid), then devices should be able to autoconnect based off signal strength. 

    some might need a reboot or even wireless turned off/back on to reconnect to whichever is the stronger signal.

      I've rebooted but if anything the Nighthawk AX8 8-Stream AX6000 WiFi 6 Mesh Extender(EAX80) is making connection worse :(

       

      I'm at a loss as to what to do now....

        What router is it connected to? 

        Are you connecting to the 2.4ghz band or 5ghz? 2.4ghz is going to be slower and suffer from more interference. 

        Have you tried moving the extender around? Many times moving closer or laterally can help as it removes obrstructions (like hvac in the walls, etc)
