Nighthawk EX7500 - Pros and cons of using One WiFi Name feature?

Question

I just purchased the EX7500 (the drop down menu wouldn’t allow that model number) mesh range extender. I am wondering about the advantages and disadvantages of using the One WiFi Name feature. Before I go through setup, I would like to know which is generally preferable. Also—if the Nighthawk connects first with my 5G band during setup, will it still extend the range of both 5G and 2G from my router?

The extender is creating a new 2.4 and 5ghz network but will act as one network with your router.

Thanks. Actually I contacted Netgear support during setup and they told me to set up separate bands for extended and router.
