Nighthawk r7000 Antennas- adjusting???

Just a question on the antennas on a Nighthawk Extender. Is there an ideal position for the antennas? Is straight up good, or at a 45 degree? Does pointing towards your router help?

    Whatever is working best for your environment but typically them being vertical.
