Nighthawk X4S Tri-Band Range Extender - No connection

Bought this last week, followed instructions and had it connected.

Today, even though the lights showed I had 2.4, I had no connection. When I looked at my devices, the two wireless bands did not show.

I reset the extender, went thru the entire setup process again.... same result.

Currently have 4 lights on, only the 5 Ghz is out. I show no connection on any of 3 devices - Laptop, IPAD or cell phone.

When I log into Mywifiext, I see the attached.

Frustrated and need help

Did you set it up with the mesh setup? If so, they won't "show" with a normal wireless scan like the built in windows. You'd need an actual channel scanner like inssider or acrylic.

your screen snip shows that its broadcasting, just that no devices are connected. thats what the "no connection" means. If you're using the mesh setup, it uses the single ssid function and your phones/tablets/devices decide when to roam between the router and the extender.

Thank you VERY MUCH for your response, unfortunately, I didn't understand a word of it. I'm new to all of this when discussing "adding an extender".  I'm in Latin America, just finally able to have "wired" internet into the house vs a dish. The Modem they installed in a combination Modem/Router (Huawei HG8245W5)

Mesh Set up? My installation guide had two methods, I chose the one that "Connect with WPS". If you can word a respond so a dummy could understand what I need to do, it would be greatly appreciated.

mesh extender: it uses the same ssid (wireless name and password) as the router you connected it to.

if you set it up using the wps, that's the default setup.

Meaning you'll only "see" one ssid broadcast (maybe 2 depending on router). It doesn't mean it isn't working, its just replicating the ssid and relying on phones/devices with roaming capability in them to use their native roaming to bounce from the router to the extender as needed.

the "no connection" displayed just means that nothings connected to the extender currently on those bands, not that it isn't working. they'll be gray instead of green if they're not working.
