Nov 20, 2017Hello
I have also a simillar issue.
One of my EX8000 is set up as AP, the other one in a different room as Extender.
On the EX8000 used as AP I had 3 Bands (1x2.4, 1x5ghz @866 , 1x5Ghz @1733).
Looking at the Extender settings I can only see 1x2.4Ghz and 1x5Ghz 866. Can't I extende the 1733 one? Is that still used by the clients from the AP or not?
- TheEtherNov 21, 2017GuruSorry. I could have sworn the manual said that the 1733 Mbps radio could be used by clients in AP mode, but now I don't see it. So, I could be mistaken.

In AP mode you have all 3 bands available (2.4Ghz. 5Ghz@866 and 5Ghz@1733)
In Extender mode you can use only 2 bands:
2.4Ghz
5Ghz either at 866 or at 1733. It all depends on which band you want to extend.
Ex: if you choose to extend the 5Ghz@1733 than the extender and AP will connect at 866.
This is from what I saw yesterday thorugh extensive testing.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
