No connection to router

I have just had new Virgin business wi fi Hitron CGNV4 router installed and my original residential router removed. When I try and set my original extender back up via WPS eventually every light turns solid blue except the router link LED which remains off and the router and extender are half a metre apart when doing this can anybody help please
Regards

  • Try factory resetting and re-installing it using the installation wizard and not wps.

wps gets coded different between different manufacturers. And isp supplied devices are notorious for not implementing it properly.

    So try that route first.

      Get in there, one nil!!!

Not something I would normally attempt but when you're desperate I went for it and found it quite easy in the end as its very user friendly telling you step by step.

Thank you very much all working fine, apparently on the Virgin Business router you have to programme the WPS button in yourself as the router is left un-programmed by the engineer!!!

So I could've been there for ten years pressing the button, but interesting as online the Virgin Hitron router guide says the WPS button will flash when its ready to pair however 2 out of 4 Virgin Technical people told me this is not the case and you just have to press the button quickly once, but the button does flash when its programmed. Makes you wonder doesnt it!!!!

Thanks very much keep safe and well greatly appreciated
