Password not accepted on N300 WiFi Range Extender

I have just purchased my N300 WiFi Range Extender Model EX2700 and I have connected it to my router and plugged it in halfway between where I have internet and where I lose reception. All lights are green and I have looked it up on my phone and in the connections setting I can see my internet name_EXT but when I click on this it asks for a password. As per the instructions I put in my usual Wifi code in but it is coming up saying the password is incorrect and there is an authentication error. I definately have the right code as I made my phone forget my usual password and set my normal internet up again to check. What can I do? I will have to send this back if it doesn't work. Thanks

Did you set it up using wps?

If so, factory reset it and reinstall using the installation wizard.

Not all device makers code wps the same and it can cause issues.

      Hiya,

Do you mean factory reset the extender? and then try with the Netgear Installation assistant rather than WPS?

I am not great with computers! Thanks
