R8000 - what's the best solution to extend
Hi all
I have an R8000 router supplying my wifi and cabled home network with no issues, (attached to fibre router) however I'm now extending my property to include a large kitchen and looking to extend the wifi into that area and garden.
What's the best option, I am assuming that I should hard wire an Access Point device in the new kitchen (running Cat5 or Cat6 is part of the plan).
Should I get another R8000 and setup as Access Point, or is there a better option - what is mesh networking all about, would it be better to replace the original R8000 and put in a new 3 node solution - or Orbi ?

PIck up another router and add it as an Access Point. I think an R8000 would be over kill. Maybe an AC1900 would be good, or a stand alone Unifi Access point - perhaps a Unifi AC-LR. The best way to expand wireless in a home is using Ethernet connected Access Points, if you want stable, secure, predictable wifi.
