RBS50Yv2 my Orbi extender wont reset, turn the lights from white to blue for sync,
I am at the end of my rope with this extender. It has not worked on and off for sometime, sometimes I never get told it is not working. When it stops it has to be taken down and brought in and next to my router, which is a tp-link router, model: Archer AX73 AX5400 Wi-FI 6 router.
In my troubleshooting I keep finding "hook it to my router via ethernet cable" I don't think I have one or it is hidden.
I was able to sync it a couple weeks ago and it disconnected. Is it possible the extender is not working anymore? I think this is maybe on the older side. I am not sure. But yet this is set up over at the shop. The TV can see it and has great strength but wont connect. I cannot connect via my phone or my PC.
I have reset this many times today but no luck. I have the ORBI app and that tell me to hook it to the ethernet cable. I even used the scan code to make sure I had the correct item being installed. In the search for WI-FI connections it does not come in as NETGEAR_EXT but comes in as Orbi169.
Can anyone help or suggest what to do to get this moving along and connect?
Thank you,
Dona

A couple tricks to try.
1. Make sure the backhaul connection to between router and extender isn't using the dfs channels. If you're in an area with dfs, that can cause drops/instabilities.
2. Re-run the extender setup on the RBS50Y. during setup, uncheck the "extender 2.4ghz network". You'll still be able to use it, but it doesn't use it as failover for the 5ghz backhaul.
Try those options.

Thank you for getting back to me so fast!!! But I can't get to the stage of setup. When I try to go through the setup, starting with the holding the sync and power on buttons and holding the sync button waiting for the white blinking light to turn blue, never happens, sometimes it starts out blinking white and goes to green flashing and then solid green or white. Never Blue. My phone or PC does not connect for the setup.
I don't know anything about backhauls or what it is. I have seen it mentioned. How do I check for dfs channel?
Thank you

If your RBS50Yv2 Orbi extender isn't resetting or syncing (white to blue), try the following steps: Power cycle the extender by unplugging it for 10-15 seconds and plugging it back in. Press and hold the reset button for about 10-15 seconds until the light starts flashing amber. Check the placement of the extender to ensure it’s within range of the main Orbi router for a proper sync. If it still doesn’t sync, you may need to try a factory reset via the app or web interface.
