Says its connected; but no Internet service
I just received my Netgear WN1000RP. The use of the item is supposed to be very simple. Unfortunately, it's not working correctly.
I plugged it up, waited for it to be ready, pressed the WPS button; went to my router, pressed the WPS button. The Netgear genie website says the unit was connected. I can connect my devices to the WN1000RP, but it has no Internet service.
I checked the Netgear Genie website, go through the Internet setup wizard, it says the WN1000RP is connected to my Internet wireless router, connection is strong and it's ready; but no devices have Internet access.
I did a factory reset on the unit. Went through the setup process again. Connected my router; it said the device was ready— same issue; no Internet connection.
The device says [from the website] it has a network connection. Tried firmware update; it failed saying no Internet connection.
I can connect to the WN1000RP, but apparently it's not connecting to my [main] router properly and providing Internet service.
Any thoughts?

- hjmcgrathNoviceI have exactly the same problem with a unit I bought yesterday. Did you find an answer perchance?
- hjmcgrathNoviceI have solved my problem. After configuring the extender I unplugged it from the wall and shut off the router. After turning the router back on and letting it get completely up and on the internet I plugged the extender back in. When the extender comes up it works perfectly with internet access. When I moved it to another location it again couldn't get on the internet. Repeating the unplugging, shutting down the router and repeating the process of powering the router back up and re-plugging the extender in and amazing it works again. Weird behavior but it works.:)
