Setting up my my wifi range extender from scratch

Hi, This is now the second time I have sent this request but since I did not get a reply to the first I am trying again

I am trying to set my wifi range extender from scratch. I first of all inserted the extender into a power socket close to my router. the router link, power and WPS LED'S illuminated with a green light.   I then transferred my  range extender to another

power socket close to my wifes tablet once again. Once again the above LED'S illumimated green but the client link led did not.  Am I missing a procedure out since this is not illuminating.  Please advise
