Slow download speed N300 WNR2000v3

Hello, I have performed multiple speed tests and I am getting at bes 25Mbps when connected via wifi, whereas I am getting 158Mpbs when connected via ethernet cable.

I have just installed the latest firmware v1.1.2.18 and it has not improved the situation (including a reset of wireless router afterwards).

My provider is Spectrum and the modem model is Arris DG1670.

What else can I try?

Upgrading your router?  This router was released in 2010 and a upgrade is highly recommended.

I'm a little doubtful of either your speedtest or what model you have. The wnr2000v3 isn't a gigabit router. its only fast ethernet rated. So 10/100 mbps speeds. If you're somehow hitting 158mbps, you're not using the wnr2000 as it'll max out at 94-96mbps hardwired. Maybe you're directly connected to your Arris as thats a modem/router combo device?

And testing wifi is a challenge as different things influence wifi speeds. I've got a top of the line router and routinely only hit 20-30 mbps over the 2.4ghz band because of network congestion in my area. so you're speeds are about what I'd expect out of a 9 year old n300 router.

It depends. What model is the ac1750? ac1750 is a speed.

        1. What is your house materials?

        2. What device are you testing with? this is key.

        3. have you tried optimizing wifi channels?

        4. is it only 2.4ghz or does 5ghz do the same thing?

        5. If you're hardwired into the ac1750, what speeds do you get.

        6. Firmware on it?

7 Are you running both devices in router mode or have you switched the netgear to AP mode.
