The DNS server isn't responding
I have a WN2000RPTv3, I have ran the through the setup process to set up my extender. It connects to the network, and I can connect to the extender, but I have no internet access. When I trouble shoot it with windows troubleshooter, it constantly says "The DNS server isn't responding"
Please help this is driving me insane!

- TEC51AspirantHello,
I do not have the same extender but I just when through basically the same issue over the last few days. I ended up assigning a static IP on my computer via IPv4. As soon as I did this bang I was able to connect. You can access IPv4 settings by opening properties on your wireless network adapter, then properties on the IPv4.
Good Luck - Evanf44AspirantI still cannot get it to work, it now connects as an "unidentified network" with no internet access.
Anyone have any advice? - Evanf44AspirantI have tried setting up a static ip, but I have no idea on what numbers to enter in ipv4 properties.
- FairytailVirtuosoTry to install the extender closer to the main router. Distance could be an issue. It shows that after the configuration the extender will no longer connects to the main router but the computer is connected to the extender.
Check the IP address of your computer. If the Default gateway is still 192.168.1.250 it means the extender cannot grab IP from the main router.
If above symptoms are true then follow the steps bellow.
1. Access mywifiext.net
2.Click on setup then IP setup
3.Set the following IP addresses:
IP:192.168.1.250(if the router's IP is 192.168.1.1)
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.0
DG:192.168.1.1(if the router's IP is 192.168.1.1)
DNS:192.168.1.1(if the router's IP is 192.168.1.1)
Hope above steps can help you.
