the router light stays red, it never did this before N300 MODEL EX2700

i have an old N300 WiFi Range Extender Model # EX2700 last week the light for the router link has remained red. the extender has been in the same place for over 2 years and never done this before.

any ideas on what may be causing this?

    Welcome to the community!

     

    If you have not made any changes to your network setup, it is possible that wireless interference may have caused it (possibly a neighboring WiFi signal). You can try using a WiFi analyzer to check for the best channel you can set your router to.
