The speed from my extender is even slower than the speed from the router

So for some reasons, my extender started acting weird a few days ago. I tried to factory reset it but it's still happening. The speed from it is like 1/2 AT MOST compare to the speed from the router, and umm.....I bought it to extend the range + speed from my router. I'm really confused right now cuz I don't know why this happen and why it happen to be this awkward. HALP!!!

  • An extenders has to work harder than a router.  The extender's Wi-Fi radio has to perform double-duty talking to the router and connected devices.  This can cause a 50% loss in speed.  This loss, however, may not be noticeable if you have slow Internet service.

Was the speed through your extender the same as it was through the router before it started acting up?   It's possible that a neighbor set up a Wi-Fi network on the same channel.  Try changing the channel on the router.  The extender will automatically switch to the same channel.
