The word "NETGEAR" periodically flashes on my range extender

EX6200  It's really a simple question that Netgear "support" cannot understand.  I'm not asking about function lights.  It's the big brand name in the upper right hand corner.  The label, the name, the word "NETGEAR" periodically flashes.  And stops flashing.  What does it mean?  What should I do?  Should I care?  Netgear doesn't know.

  • I gave up and bought a Linksys extender.  I works better.  Thank you for your response.

  • I would check that you have the most up to date firmware to start with, link to newest below:

    http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/EX6200/EX6200-V1.0.3.68_1.1.104.zip

Often LEDs flash when data is being transferred, but never heard of the Netgear Logo doing it before.

If you go into Advanced Settings on the extender there is often an option like 'LED Control Settings' or similar.  You may be able to turn the Logo off completely

    Hope this helps.
