Must hav forgot to update the post, I managed to fix the issue, the internal wifi card just needed an update.
still having the initial problem of been unable to log in to my wifi extender settting and what not.
Figured I'd pay a vist back here, see if any solutions have come forward as I am still having issues with my exender, I think it may be due another update too as my connection when using it is becoming sluggish.

Have you tried to change the wireless channel on the extender to see if you get a better connection?
