Using EX2700 to extend mobile hotspot

I've been using my EX2700 as an extender for my mobile hotspot using my Lumia 1520 for about a year now and it works perfectly for that. But my phone finally took a dump and I bought a new Samsung Galaxy S7. Now, I can connect to the hotspot using the setup page for the extender, but when I connect my devices to the extender after setup it says "Connected, no internet."  I already disabled calling over wi-fi because I read that interfereres with extenders. The extender also does not show up in the list of devices connected on the phone, even though according to the extender itself, it is connected.  Please help!
