Where to place extender . . .
I live in an RV full time. The WiFi router that I have access to is about 250 feet away. It is located in a mobile home and I am in a trailer. Both are metal clad homes. I bought a Netgear EX6200 Range Extender. Here is my question . . . Should the extender be near the router or should it be in the RV where the computers and Apple TV are located? Probably a simple question but I'm not sure . . .
Ideally, it should be positioned where it can get a strong signal from both the router and the computers. This is probably somewhere between the mobile home and trailer, which is probably not an option since it's not rated for outdoor use.
I would start by putting it in the trailer. Wi-Fi signals don't penetrate metal very well, so put it and the router near a window.

I am contemplating installing a sealed box on the outside for the extender to sit in. And hardwiring it to the inside. If that's the ideal spot (for current and future situations) then I guess it would make sense . . .
