WiFi Extender 5ghz issues AC750 EX3700
I purchased the AC750 WiFi range extender EX3700 to help boost a poor wifi signal.
I have a Sky Q hub router and used the web browser setup rather than the WPS button option. I'm running windows 8.1 on an hp laptop.
I have two issues:
1. the 2.4 ghz band appears in my wireless network list on my pc, however when I try to connect it says the connection is 'limited', I cannot connect to the 2.4ghz band on my iphone either.
2. the 5ghz band doesn't appear on the wireless network list on my pc, but does appear on my iphone, and I can connect to it, and it works. I have tried to set up the 5ghz wireless connection on the pc manually, the pc says it is connected but it doesn't show up in the network list.
I have tried a varierty of things including restarting my router and pc, changing the wireless channels on my router, and clearing the dns cache on my pc.
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Is it only the pc having issues?
all the other devices work?

The pc and iphone can both 'see' the 2.4ghz wireless connection but can't access internet through it (says there is no connection).
In addition, the pc can't 'see' the 5ghz connection at all, even though the iphone can connect to and use the 5ghz connection without any issues.
I have logged into my netgear genie and both 2.4ghz and 5ghz connection status are 'connected'
