And this is the IP while on the extended network:

DHCP is failing when you are connected to the extender. The Mac is assigning itself an IP address (169.254.x.x. addresses are self-assigned). The router field is empty because the Mac doesn't know what to fill in there.
Can you try clicking on the "renew DHCP lease" control when you are connected to the extender network, and see if it gets a 192.168.1.x address.

Hi Stephen,
Thank you for the recommendation. I renewed the DHCP lease, but the IP address remained self-assigned.
