Wifi extender not extending

My wifi extender randomly stopped extending the 5G wifi. I switched on smart connect by accident and that's what started all this mess. I switched it off but now my extender only does 2.4G even though there is a 5G option, and when I connect to the 5G wifi it still says it's the 2.4G. If i connect to the router 5G it says it connected to 5G though. The mywifiext site diagram shows it being connected to the internet but not the router, and says 2.4G available but not the 5G. The site also won't let me press smart set up or press the 2 options in blue for the extender wifi. Everything was fine 2 days ago.

The extender you linked is a mesh extender. Meaning in mesh mode, the 2.4ghz and 5ghz use the same exact ssid as the router. Its not that you don't have those networks, its that they're combined and rely on your devices (phone/tablet/etc) own roaming/band steering protocols to choose the appropriate device.

You can log in via the browser and disable this (make sure to manually change the ssid's after you disable it)
