WiFi Extender Red Router Light and Hot
My NetGear wifi extender AC 750 3700 keeps getting a red light indicating that it has lost contact with the router. It is in a very small one-story house. I've tried plugging it in to outlets on different walls in different locations, doesn't help. It also gets very warm (hot). I can't figure out what is wrong with it but the heating up part concerns me.

Was the extender placed in a ventilated place? Since Router LED is red, its not getting sufficient signals from router where I would suggest you to try modifying wireless channel on router. Also, check for firmware upgrade on extender if any and see if that helps.
