Wifi Mesh Extender ex6250 losing internet connection (with vodafone NBN Modem)

Hi All,

 

I was wondering if I could get some help on this.

 

I bought a ex6250 last month and installed it to extend my wifi signal from my modem/router downstairs at my house. The modem/router is located centrally upstairs and i have connected to it with my new extender next to it to set it up. It sets up fine on the latest firmware but when i conenct devices to the extender, the internet connection is constantly lost. so i can't use any devices connected to both the 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels.

 

connecting directly to the modem/router works fine. Just internet speed downstairs is slower than upstairs closer to the modem.

 

I called up the Netgear support line who checked the settings/status and said all was fine. They asked me to speak to Vodafone.

 

I'm waiting on Vodafone to come back to me at the moment as they did some preliminary checks and confirmed that the internet (NBN) is fine.

 

Can anyone help me with this? I feel it could be settings from the Vodafone modem that need to be changed to fix the problem. My NBN connection is FTTP with Vodafone.

 

I actually got the extender exchanged from a version 1 to a version 2 but encountered the same problem again. Its very frustrating as i read great reviews about this extender.

    Try factory resetting the extender and installing it using the installation assistant. Don't use wps. 

    What firmware is on the extender?

      Thanks for the reply mate, its the latest firmware (v1.0.3.30)

       

      I've reset it a few times and there hasn't been any improvements. Been speaking to vodafone support but they've been hopeless.

       

      I feel that its a setting that needs to be made from the vodafone modem to allow the internet to stop dropping out.
