Wifi Range Extender Drops Connection
I have a WN2000RPT and it works fine apart from permanently loosing connection to the router after about a day. The top light on the front goes orange and it is completely useless until you power cycle it.
I've read a few thread here that seem to have the same problem and share my frustration at Netgear not only failing to fix it, but not even acknowledging it!
I refuse to buy another one and am only annoyed at myself at having limped through with it for months (assuming a firmware fix would surely be immanent) to the point where I can't really return it.
It may help work out what the problem is if we can establish anything common with those experiencing the problem.
Does everyone who has the problem have their internet router set to select wireless channel automatically, or have 54g LRS (or auto compatability mode) enabled ? Does everyone use one or more iPhones ?
There must be something in common as no matter how I configure the extender iteself it still regularly drops the connection - and I can't believe anyone would be buying any Netgear products anymore if the same thing happened to everyone using these. It certainly hasn't helped my trust in them or their products!

- simonadamsAspirantWell for me it was disabling 54g LRS mode on my internet router. Went from the Netgear extender dropping the connection every day to over a week of solid connection...
- simonadamsAspirantP.S. I set it to "54g performance". It may not be the solution for everyone, but it is strange that LRS is set as default by Sky, as its not the manufacturers recomended setting...
