Wifi Range extender EX6110

I am trying to set up the range extender with it plugged into a socket less than 1m away from the BT Hub 4-S8FT but the device light will not light (the other three all light). It appears that the extender is not communicating with the hub. I did previously manage to get all four lights to work but when mounted just over halfway between my TV and the hub I failed to get internet connection onto the TV.  I then tried resetting and installing again and it was then that I couldn't get the device light to work.

 

Help and advice would be appreciated!  Thank you.

    The device led is for when a device such as phone/tablet/etc is connected to the extender. if the extender is only 1m away from the router and using the same ssid as the router, devices are going to connect to the router and not the extender.
