WN2000RPTv2: Can I use the same SSID as my router?
I need to extend my wireless range for use with an iPad.
I want to be able to use iTunes Home Sharing where my library is on a Windows 7 PC on the wireless network provisioned by a Westell 7500 modem.
I also want to be able to access the Lexmark wireless printer that is on my original network from the iPad. Can I do that with the WN2000RPTv2? Or do I need everything to be on the same network SSID?
Thanks for any help. If there is a another Netgear device that will do what I need I would be happy to switch to it.

- randyw57NoviceI believe the answer is no.
I went through the web browser setup at www.mywifiext.net.
There was nothing in there that I could find that would allow me to change the name of the SSID that the WN2000RPTv2 creates. - BigJohnDAspirantYes, you can use the same SSID and password as your router. In the area where the signals overlap and are of similar strength, you may find your wireless device struggles to fix on just one wireless source. I have my wireless router at the front of the house, where the telephone line socket is, and the WN2000RPT in the garage at the rear of the house, making wireless links in the garden very strong. With a mobile phone, when leaving the house and walking down to the bottom garden, there's no noticeable change except the received signal strength decreases and then becomes full strength.
- randyw57NoviceWhere do I need to go to be able to configure this?
From somewhere in www.mywifiext.net?
Thanks for any pointers! - BigJohnDAspirant
