WN2000RPTv3 - DLNA-problems

Hi there,

I have a AVM FritzBox 7390 (DSL modem + router) and a cable bound Synology DS215j as MediaServer on the one side...and the Netgear WLAN-Extender + a cable bound Samsung-TV on the other side.
My problem is, that being connected to the WN2000RPT (either the TV or with my notebook in the ..._EXT-wifi), the Synology is listed as a DLNA-Server, but doesn ́t provide any content.

If I connect the TV or my notebook to the FritzBox, everything is fine and the content can be accessed. The wifi-extender is basically just a "cable replacement", because the room really doesn´t allow to install an ethernet cable in a visual acceptable way.

Do you have any ideas, what´s going wrong there and especially what I can do to solve that? :)

Thanks in advance and greetings,
Jörg

  • Hi,

I tested a little bit more...and the results confuse me also even more to be honest :)

I established a cable connection between the extender and the fritzbox router....and also a cable between the TV and the extender. My notebook uses the ..._EXT-wifi.

I can play DLNA content on the TV and the notebook this way. So basically it´s all there to have it functional. But what has to be done, to get rid of the cable connected between extender and router and still have that working?

I´m really lost and would be absolutally happy for any help on that !!!

    Greetings, Jörg
