I installed a WN2000RPT (vs3) N300 WiFi extender some days ago and the installation worked fine and so did the extender, which connected perfectly to the base WiFi. All mobiles, computers etc connect...

Thanks for the clarification OddMolly.
Can you please try setting the network to a different Security mode?
For example, try No Security then WPA2 (switch to this if you are currently on WEP)

Hi nhann
Firmware vs is 1.0.0.24 which I understand is the newest. Yesterday I double checked all WiFi settings etc of the extender, and they are all set as recommended in the User Manual.
The extender is connected by WiFi to an Inteno DG150 router, which according to the manual can do:
• 802.11b/g/n 2x2 WiFi supports up to 300 Mbps transmission rate
• Secure transmitting encryption by either 802.1x;WEP; WEP2; WPA; WPA2; TKIP; AES; 802.11i
The router is almost brand new and should be updated by the internet provider (I have no access to it) - it works fine with all other WiFi and WAN/LAN connected devices (Samsung GT-I9195 mobile w Android 4.4.2, Huawei phones with Android, Samsung Tab 4 with Android, Xbox One, HP and Dell computers).
The mobile I have (had?, see below) problems with is the Samsung GT-I9195 mobile w Android 4.4.2.
Yesterday, I turned off and restarted all units connected to the incoming optical fiber. From the gateway (Allied Telesis iMG1525RF), to the Inteno router, to the Netgear extender, and finally my Samsung phone. And - the Samsung phone did reconnect to the extender when I came how from work today, just as I like it to do. I hope it works tomorrow too.

HI
I have not tried varying Security mode yet as I liked to check how stable the 'restart all units' approach was. It worked for a week. Then I had the same problem again when reconnecting to the extender. I turned off and on the router and extender and phone and now it works again.
I try your suggestion today and let you know.

OK, I have now restarted the extender and then changed the Security Option to None, and when that was implemented, after some minutes, I changed the Security Setting to WPA2-PSK [AES].
Connections to the extender work now, the question is if it works when my phone try to reconnect. That may take some days to figure out. I let you know.

Changing security mode solved the problem. Thanks!
