WN2500RPv2/N600 Dual Band Issue - 2.4ghz network keeps dropping
I am having major issues with my wireless network. This extender keeps dropping the 2.4ghz network for some reason. It keeps the 5ghz connection with the router, however, I have to keep rebooting the...

Hi, that link is for the 5Mhz, which I do not have enabled. Is it the same for the 2.4Mhz? I read a lot in the past about differences between the two and thought I did good by moving the 2.4Mhz to 11. It does have an Auto setting but what I read a while back advised against it as the switching may cause interruption. What just said is for my router. The problem is with my extender which is set to match the router at channel 11 for the 2.4Ghz. What’s your recommendation?

Yes follow the same process as in the 5ghz KB and the extender will follow the router but it could make the signal between the two better which may improve your issue.

- SheiweeshMay 04, 2018AspirantHi,
I used a scanner on my computer near the router and I’m the only one using #11. There are only a few other SSIDs in the area. I switched to #3 for some time but that didn’t help. I still had to restart the extender. Then I switched to Auto and it looks like it used #11 on its own. This morning I still had to restart the extender.
Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks for your help.- SheiweeshMay 04, 2018AspirantSomething new. After a while of dealing with theee issues with the extender you get to know when it’s about to drop. If I try to switch the WiFi on my iPhone to the Extender and it takes forever to connect, you know it’s not going to. So I accessed my router configs and changed the 2.4Mhz speed from 45Mbps to 145Mbps and saved it. My phone WiFi then connected right away to the extender. In fact I’m writing this note from my phone which is connected to the extender WiFi SSID. I did not have to reset thecextender after changing the speed on my router to 145Mbps and saving it. But I did go into the extender Co gig and changed that too to 145Mbps and saved. I did that from my phone as well while connected to the extender SSID. Let’s see if this solves the problem.
