wn3000rp not connecting to network

I have been using the W3000RP extender on a previous wireless router. Recently changed to a NetComm wireless router and now can't get the extender to work again. I used the WPS button on the router and the extender but it does not light up the link rate led. After the WPS led flashes it becomes solid green and the only other led thats on is the extender status led which is solid green. In other words the the PC to Ext led is off and the link rate led is off.
