WN3000RP Reconnect with secure connection

I previously connected this extender in 2012 and used it for a few months. I reset it to factory default. I have now only able to connect it unsecured to my R7000. I do not know what Authentication option to select, I've tried all with no success. It is only needed to connect to a Globe Electric Smart Bulb. Also, the Smart Bulb only works with 2.4g, but I don't think that matters. Wondering if it's too old but don't want to buy a new extender just for a bulb. Would the new extenders work with this Smart Bulb? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    the extender should work fine with that bulb. 

    Are you setting it up using wps or using the installation assistant? 

    I'd recommend using the installation assistant. during setup, you can setup security on the extender.
