How comes? For example the NETGEAR Trek Travel Router (PR2000) can be used to "hide" multiple computers and portable devices behind one MAC address - sign-on from any system with a browser to deal with the portal sign-on is sufficient for all.

While testing the PR2000, we had no issues using Multicast based applications on the WLAN/LAN side of the PR2000 in travel router mode.
Of course, hotel portal and Internet connections might prohibit using Multicast in a reasonable way - it's either blocked, or will be distributed all over on most non-managed switch environments and WLAN AP.
