Netgear N600 as a repeater?
I have an Apple Time Capsule connected to my Arris SB6141 modem. I have an additional Netgear N600 router that I want to connect to my network and use it as a wifi extender while also being able to run ethernet cables from the ports to have wired connections in another part of my house. How can I set this up? I was wondering if they will all be on the name network and not create an additional wireless network also. Thanks in advance.
Cannot connect on 5GHz
Hi, I have a DGND3700 router and just bought a WN2500RP to extend it. Both are are on latest firmware. I went through the normal set up using TPS and it connects and shows the 2.4GHz connection. If I repeat the same many times, the 5GHz never lights up. I know 5GHz is working on the 3700 because my iPad connects to the 5Ghz SSID and my iPhone connects to the 2.4GHz SSID. I tried using the web interface to connect to 5GHz but it also fails to connect. I am certain the password is correct. I'm using WPA2-PSK (AES). I am not using a wireless card access list. My 2.4GHz SSID is called JOHNA-2.4G My 5GHz SSID is called JOHNA-5G Even though the 5GHz light is not lit on the 2500 and the web interface shows it is not connected, I see the following Networks on my iPad JOHNA-2.4G JOHNA-2.4G_2GEXT JOHNA-5G JOHNA-5G_5GEXT If I connect to JOHNA-2.4G_2GEXT or JOHNA-5G_5GEXT and browse to the device I can see 5GHz is not connected. If I tell it to connect, it says it will take 2 minutes. I usually give up after 10 minutes. Both devices are in the same room so it is not a distance problem - I hope. In summary, no matter what I do, it will not connect at 5GHz. A bit disappointed by this. I thought 2 new products from Netgear that support TPS would work flawlessly. Any advice would be very welcome. John.
Can't access admin page (www.mywifiext.net)
After wasting my time for 30 minutes trying to get www.mywifiext.net to work, here's what I did: --I had already set up the WN3500RP using WPS. --Connected to the WN3500RP via Ethernet (i.e. ran a CAT6 cable from my laptop to the Ethernet port on the WN3500RP). --Went into my router's DHCP table to get the IP address of the WN3500RP. --Entered the IP address as the URL (e.g. 192.168.1.144). --Changed the WN3500RP to use a static IP address outside the range of my router's DHCP list (e.g. 192.168.1.163). That way it will always be at .163 so I don't have to hunt for it every time I want to access the admin page. --Entered the new static IP address as the URL (e.g. 192.168.1.163). --Updated the firmware and customized the WN3500RP. Brand new Samsung S6 Smartphone will not communicate with WN3000RP
I have 2 other devices, a notebook and another android that communicate just fine, but my brand new S6 will not hook up to the extender. I have reset the modem, the extender, and the phone itself. I have told my phone to "forget" that particular connection and have re-set it up to no avail. When I try to connect, it says "connecting" for a minute or so then it tries again, and then finally it says "failed to obtain IP address." Help
Connecting extender to hotel login page
I have a guest network that requires a web page to open and a password to enter network to use (like hotel login), but I cannot get extender to allow me to enter a webpage and login so it says it cannot connect. Is there a way around this? I.e open a web page, enter the password to the network when prompted by main router. Then get extender to boost signal to other areas/devices? Thanks!
Old 3000RP doesn't work with new modem/WiFi router
Wondering if anybody can help me. I have the Netgear Universal WiFi Range Extender, model WN3000RP V1H2. It worked great until recently, when I changed my ISP to AT&T UVerse (I am now using a Motorola NVG589 modem/WiFirouter), and now the Range Extender no longer works. I have spent hours troubleshooting and reading every FAQ and manual I can find but no luck. Anybody have any thoughts? Much appreciated!
WN3000RPv2 Range Entender
I have been using the WN 3000RP Extender for several months now. I have ATT Uverse for my Internet provider. My ATT Modem recently died and I had to replace it. Now everything is working great again EXCEPT now the WN3000 is still hooked up to my old modem. I can't figure out how to reset it so that it links up with the new modem. I've tried pressing the "Factory Reset" button, but this does nothing. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Bill
WN3000RP extender passport and rename
I had to restore my extender to the factory settings. I want to rename it from the netgear that automatically comes up. All advice says I should be able to put in admin but I never get a log in box. I need instructions on where to go to rename and give my extender (not my router) a security password, please help. This should not be this hard!
