WN802T is it dead???
Hiya guys,
Is my access point dead?
I have a WN802T, which i have had for about 6 months. I came home today to do some work in the office. The Network connection light is out, the wireless light is out. The power light is still on.
It wont respond via its Ip address, and wont let me do a factory rest nether. When i try the power light just flickers slightly ( and i mean slight ).
Any ideas be really good thanks

- cgnschuecNoviceUnbelievable but true - Support asked me to again ping and reset in a different manner: 10sec switched off and then 10sec switched on.
It seems nobody really nows what resets a WN802T
Have been asked to contact phone support which I did already. :D
Let´s see what kind of diagnosis the "engineers" make out of it and hope that this tactic of gaining time once comes to an end.
Really poor and slow support so far. - Zeus_2007NoviceSame here.
Died yesterday, 10/25/07.
Serial starts with 1KV371........
I'm an old network admin, so I ran through all the steps of trying to get into it. (Such as directly connecting to it with a static IP already in place, etc, etc...you old network hacks like me understand)
Talked with tech support, my unit is still under hardware warranty, they asked me a dozen questions which were nearly insulting as it was clearly obvious that I knew more about networking than the guy I was talking to. No worries though, they have a process and they must go through it, I can respect that! Plus, the guy was extremly nice. Netgear has a great offshore firm handling their customer service, my hat's off to them.
At the end of the story, they RMA'd my unit. - Thanks Zeus_2007
This is what I am trying to get to. For those of you having issues, you need to call into tech support and create a case. If it is a power issue, the device can be replaced under warranty. If you have created a case for what you perceive to a power issue or has not been determined what the case is, PM me your case number.
cgnschuec- You have a PM. - bpfinchNoviceEven more important to me that getting this unit replaced is knowing if this is a known issue or trend. I bought 10 of these for a project. I have deployed 4 so far. I cannot have these in the field if they are prone to failure. In the forums it does not look like there is any mention of the WN802T failing previously and now in this thread people are starting to have problems. Can we find out why this is happening?
Thanks,
Brian - I hear you bpfinch and I think it is a valid question. I am not sure how much of a problem it actually is though. I don't judge problems alone just according to what is posted on the forum.
- cgnschuecNoviceStill no reply from support other then that they elevated it to a higher level.
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: - pdmmattNoviceI'm having difficulties with my WN802T also.
My Serial number starts 1KV977LM...
I'm having both ethernet and wireless connection issues. I've had the unit for a couple of days now...tried resetting, unplugging, rebooting, reconfiguring settings (if I can access via web browser). - mikegmsNoviceMine just did the same thing over the last couple of days,
Wn802T.
Slightly flickering power light, no other response, no response to ping or reset.
Serial starts with 1KV37L...
Will check the receipt date on Monday.
It's been working fine for a long time. - cgnschuecNoviceCould you please elevate the problem to some higher level.
Swiss support - telephone and e-mail - keep ignoring me and are incompetent because they just send every other day just again a new reset and ping procedure though I explained that the problem is already at ethernet level.:( - PigDogAspirantI also have a WN802T that died in October. Serial starts with 1KV36BL.... I have tried the 30 second factory reset and unplugging the unit, but nothing works. I opened an online case - # 6020584. I will have to call in to open a phone case this week. Any updates at all on this issue?
