WNDAP360 losing connection
So I have a WNDAP360, running the latest 2.1.1 firmware.
It is setup to be as basic as possible.
I have disabled the QoS features, and set the channel.
I looked with inSSIDer and got my 2 most free channels.
The 5GHz channel is totally free.
I have set my laptop to use the 5GHz channel and get excellent connection.
The WNDAP360 is connected to my HP Gig switch, using an injector for PoE.
I have tested with and without the injector directly into my Cisco ASA which has PoE.
So now my issue is.
I have a constant signal, the signal itself never drops.
But I get disconnects from services, eg I play League of Legends.
Now if I play through Wifi I get pvp.net disconnects, and it automatically reconnects after a bit.
Constantly!
If I connect the same laptop to the switch directly, I get no disconnects at all. Ruling out the Laptop. My desktop on the switch is also fine.
This means the only thing is the AP itself.
The WMM feature is disabled on my laptop.
I cannot think of anything else to do or try.
I have reset the AP when I did the firmware upgrade.
Thanks

I exhaustively tested many configurations and finally found one that the AP seems stable for me for a small number of clients (I haven't tested more than 5 clients simultaneously connected) with both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz enabled. The key seemed to be disabling QoS along with some other advanced settings (AP client isolation, etc).
Previous to disabling QoS, the router would frequently reboot at random while in use (judging by ssh uptime). Now it has been up for 7+days and still going strong. I'm still very disappointed that Netgear has released this somewhat pricey business-class AP with unstable firmware (it doesn't work out of the box) however at least now the AP is somewhat usable (albeit without QoS) and hopefully a future firmware update will resolve this.
I'm posting pics of my configuration in case it helps someone else. - xpitjjAspirantThe previous images do not seem to load, here they are again hosted at a different site:
- jlittle78AspirantDumb question, but how do you disable only the 5GHz band on the WNDAP360?
- bob5244AspirantOn the wireless settings page, go to the 802.11a/na tab and untick the "turn radio on" check box and then click apply
- ThreeXHAspirantI don't know how may of you in this thread resolved your rebooting issues but some months ago when I had problems like these I reported them to Netgear and after first RMA'ing my AP they then provided me with V2.1.3.5 beta firmware which resolved the issues. The AP has been rock solid ever since.
- LapGear1AspirantPlease try the latest firmware posted - v2.1.5.
There is no known compatibility issue between the WNDAP360 and Apple devices. If you are still having issue after upgraded to v2.1.5, please open a support ticket. We will be happy to look into the issue.
Netgear Technical Support - PedroDurNoviceWhere did you get the V2.1.3.5 beta firmware. I am tired of whaiting for Netgear to list this Firmeware and the AP is useless as it is now. ;)

Any chance the V2.1.3.5 beta firmware is downloadable som where...? - ThreeXHAspirant

I got it from Netgear 3rd line. However the 2.1.5 firmware that you can download direct from the site is now newer than the 2.1.3 beta I was using and I am using the official 2.1.5 instead.
So far it seems to be working however testing is ongoing. - SavellMAspirantSo further to this.
Altho the AP is still absolutely RUBBISH, and I cannot return it.
I tried the 2.1.5 and 2.1.6 firmware.
Another new bug has been release.
If you reboot the AP from within the WebGUI it seems to reboot, but the 5ghz network never comes back.
I mean seriously Netgear, do not do any QA?!
You are releasing firmware for AP's that are utter poop.
You release a business product that is in essence a large paperweight.
And the only way to get the 5ghz back is to do a factory reset!
Good job, well done, if user expectations wasn't already low, you have gone and just nuked it.
(ps. this was replicated in a Netgear support case, and engineer confirmed it!)
