2 router 1 network and keep plex working
I recently purchased an orbi rbr850 mesh wifi system to replace my nighthawk gaming router since it started having issues and would only give half of the stuff in the house an ip address.
I setup the orbi as the main and then on the nighthawk I uncheck the dhcp and gave it a static address of 192.168.1.2 and then I hooked a lan cable on to the output of the orbi and plugged it into the output on the nighthawk since all videos showed it connecting there and not to the ethernet port on it.
The nighthawk gives internet and broadcasts signals but the orange lights do not light up on the front and plex isnt working and gives an error saying that there is no internet.
I was wondering if I connected this all correct and how to get it so I wont lose my plex server that is run through the xr700 or even the older model that I have the nighthawk x10..
figured it out needed to go to run and do the //readyshare

instead of doing it that way, put the XR into access point mode and go from the orbi's output lan to the XR's WAN input.
I thought I read some where that the xr couldnt connect to the orbi that way but I will give it a try, thanks :)

Any idea as to how I can access my plex shortcut folder again? I used to access it by a shortcut folder \\192.168.1.1\USB_Storage\Plex
now since the main orbi is 192.168.1.1 it doesnt work anymore and the only way I can login the xr700 is by going to http://www.routerlogin.com which I am not sure if that will work as a shortcut for a folder to the connected hard drive.
