AC1740 Model R6350 & Xfinity Modem
I have a Xfinity WiFI Gateway and router connected to AC1750 SmartWiFiRouter MOdel R 6350.
My internet speed is max 1000mbps but the laptop and desktop attached to the AC1750 (ethernet) will only reach 400 mbps or less. If i connect either system directly to Xfinity Modem my speed is over 700+ mbps. Laptop wifi connected to AC1750 will only obtain 300 mbps. Question: How do configure the router to accept more mbps that is available to me.
Xfinity modem is NOT set to Bridge Mode. When I set the modem to "Bridge" i lost all of my security cameras and no other devices worked. I disabled 'Bridge' and got my stuff back.
Xfinity Modem has a different network NAME then the WiFi network. Xfinity support could not help me change the modem network name. Any help is appreciated.

You have a router at the ISP modem level already. The 6350 series is years old and of older generation WiFi that doesn't have the capabilities to support wifi speeds much past 300Mpbs. So if you want to see anything past 300Mpbs, you'll need to replace the R series router with something newer generation:

Also, if your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT

1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

CapeLady: You have a gateway (modem+router combined). Likely it outperforms the 6350, so one option is to stop using that, and just use the Xfinity.
You should be able to change the wifi network name and password yourself. Can you give us the specific model information?
If the gateway wifi isn't good enough, then you could get a newer Netgear router or access point, and connect that to the Infinity gateway.
