AC1750 Primary with 2nd AC1750 as AP

I purchased a AC1750 as a primary router with main SSID and Guest enabled.   Both have a password.   This works fine.

I purchased a second AC1750 to be used as an Access Point (AP) for a side building (a small cafe).   I have the main SSID (called Cafe) and a Guest enabled also (as Cafe-Guest).

Here's the problem:  The AP for the Cafe SSID works.  However, the guest account (Cafe-Guest) does not get internet access and I cannot ping the default gateway 192.168.1.1.

What gives?

Thanks.

Darryl

  • Always read the documentation (actually sent to me by DaneA earlier).  A main router ethernet port must be used to plug into the 2nd router used as an AP Internet port.   I just plugged the 2nd router into a free port on the switch.   Funny how the main SSID for the AP worked but not the Guest SSID.

I'll mark this as an answer unless otherwise corrected.
